Last Updated Date: 28/08/2026
Level of Programme: Introductory

Programme Highlights

This course helps FA reps understand how individual and company income tax concepts affect financial planning conversations. The course will not train participants to become tax advisers; instead, it helps them identify tax-sensitive planning opportunities and know when to refer clients to qualified tax professionals.

The AI component would focus on tax-impact mapping, client profiling and tax-aware financial planning prompts, using approved tools to identify planning questions around income, CPF top-ups, SRS, insurance deductibility, business protection and succession needs.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
  1. Explain the basic structure of Singapore individual income tax, including tax residency, taxable income, reliefs, rebates and progressive tax rates.
  2. Explain basic company income tax concepts relevant to SME owners, directors and key executives.
  3. Identify how tax considerations may affect CPF, SRS, retirement planning, insurance planning, business-continuity planning and executive benefits.
  4. Distinguish between general tax-awareness guidance and regulated tax advice requiring referral.
  5. Use AI-assisted tools to generate tax-planning checklists and client discovery questions.
  6. Conduct a tax-aware advisory conversation without giving unauthorised tax advice.
